Our newest place to stay is the very cute 10b Glouctester Lane, tucked in a quiet leafy corner of the elegant georgian New Town of Edinburgh. Gloucester Lane runs from Heriot Row, only 5 minutes from Princes Street, at the top end while at the other end it meanders down to the bustling shops, cafes and restaurants of nearby Stockbridge, with its riverside walks down the Water of Leith. I don't think there is a more convenient place to stay while visiting our lovely capital city of Edinburgh. Rather surprisingly given this city centre location it is also so very quiet here, with very little traffic noise to be heard in th surrounding streets ensuring you get a great nights sleep to recover from all the sightseeing you will be doing.
No. 10b is an original mews house, built around 1830 for the servants who worked in the grand houses in Moray Place, this was their humble accommodation with stabling for the coach and horses. Its diminutive size makes for the perfect self-contained city centre place to stay and now being fully refurbished it is looking rather lovely. It can sleep 4 comfortably in two double bedrooms, shower room and open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room. We are also very pleased to include use of a garage, built orginally for horses but we would prefer if you just park your car in it!
